Fresh Cut bashes, bumbles to 2nd W

A collective, "What the..." rose from the benches Wednesday night as Fresh Cut Properties bungled a 29-12 lead before finally rising to beat upstart but undermanned Howie's Pub 41-31 in a slugfest lasting nearly two hours. Lucus Ritchie once again set a blistering pace at the plate, with another homer and multi-hit night despite being pulled late. Pitcher Gavin McCarthy hit for the cycle and batterymate Josh Thompson tomahawked his way on base four times. Don Couture added four hits including a near homer.

Shoddy defence plagued the normally reliable Fresh Cut crew, with melon-headed Brad Smith tossing multiple horsehide softballs over and around multiple teammates. Only a defensive gem-turned-front three quarter somersault saved the corner minder from certain perpetual ridicule. A sports psychiatrist has been retained by Fresh Cut brass to tamp down the mentally fragile Smith.
